CHERUB | State Theatre (2016) | St. Petersburg, FL

Great set by CHERUB last night at the State Theatre in st. pete, FL. The band had the whole crowd dancing the entire time. Over the past few times I have seen CHERUB, each performance gets better. Can not wait for their upcoming album, Bleed Gold Piss Excellence.

The Strokes- Someday

I do not even care how old this song is. I listen to it every week and it gives me that extra boost that I need. In 2014, we at HeadphoneHeavy attended Governors Ball Music Festival in NY. The Strokes were one of the headliners; absolutely annihilating the show. Julian Casablancas, lead singer, is also the man. I hope too see The Strokes at Big Guava Festival in Tampa, FL, this year. One of the best bands I have seen live. They just give me that feel, you know?

Vulfpeck- 1612

A friend of mine showed me this groovy band not too long ago. And let me tell you, all my funky needs are now being met. FORD FOCUS. the lyrics do not even need to make sense for this track to sound good. Definitely check out another song Fuge State by them, also contains very much funk. I honestly can not fully describe the genre of their music. Let us know what you think of these guys!

Passion Pit - Where the Sky Hangs

Oh how I've missed you Passion Pit. Passion Pit dropping another song off of their album Kindred. Lifted Up (1985), their first release is also an awesome song. Check it out on (Youtube). It has been two years since Passion Pit released an album, I'm sure they have been working their pits off. A lot of HEAVY music coming out from all artists soon. Just makes you love music more than you already do. Cha Feels?

Street Joy- You

YOU. Yeah I am talking to you, Street Joy, killing it lately. Some favorites recently released by them such as; Wrong Cloud, You, Long Time Ago, and Laurel Hill. Really digging this come up band. Today's featured song “You”, has been popping off on SoundCloud. The song honestly makes me want to go outside and skip around. This slow happy track brings me back to a better time, when everything was so simple. Good work on this one fellas! The little jam at the end of the song is my favorite part.

Death Cab For Cutie- Black Sun

Death Cab For Cutie is known for their mellow ass music and looky here we have some more. Black Sun is the first single off of Death Cab for Cutie's upcoming album Kintsugi, out March 31^st. Death Cab For Cutie really jams on a modern rock feel in this song, apposed to their normal acoustic melody. Let me tell ya face, I am really liking the vibe. Can not wait for Death Cab For Cutie's new album, it is going to be very cool too see what they have in store for us. I am going to drink the rest of my whiskey and water now. Share you thoughts about the song!

Cherub - Strip to This (Acoustic Audio) ft. ForteBowie

Whats good people, fuck the Patriots. Got some acoustic music for you chill goobers out there. Cherub basically remastering their version of Doses and Mimosas, on their new EP Left Overs. Little disappointing that the EP is only available on Spotify. Something I will probably never use. Your computer might get stuck on replay after hearing this one. Don't get to lost in the sauce. Follow us on twitter and Instagram for more DOPe stuff.

Ephemerals- You Made Us Change

Picture this: It’s 1975, your afro is looking fantastic, like Black Dynamite fantastic. You walk into this little bar and Al Greene, Marvin Gaye, and the Isley brothers are all jumping and jiving because there is this new sound that is so irresistible. It’s that really funky unky, the type of shit that makes you wanna wiggle and jiggle like gelatin.

January 2015 Alternative/Indie Rock PLAYLIST

HeadPhoneHeavY's favorite Alternative/Indie Rock music for the months of December and January. Starting the year off on a good note if you ask us.

BRONCHO- Class Historian

Little late on this one, like six months late. However, this song make me wanna jam. I don't have a problem with JAMMIN'.

Milky Chance- Unknown Song feat. Paulina Eisenberg

Milky Chance is taking America by storm. If you haven’t heard of the German folk duo, your name is probably Ryan Coppola, or you just flat out don’t exist. These dudes are so appealing because of their unique sound, mixing a little bit of reggae with a little bit of electronic. Wubs and Dubs am I right? Well it’s more of the same from these visionaries. Unkown Song is just plain groovy.
